So Unlike The Mainland It Might As Well Be A Different Country

Hawaii is just so exotic, so unlike the mainland. It's my single fantasy destination of islands, palm trees, surf, the endless ocean, volcanoes, loud printed shirts, grass skirts, and summer all year long. It's halfway around the world so far away you might as well be in a different country. Do I Need passport To Go To Hawaii? The islands look so tiny in the globe that sometimes I half wonder if an island wouldn't sink if I so much as set foot on it. The Hawaii I picture in my head has green forests, beautiful strange flowers, bright colored birds, volcano peaks in the clouds, and surf pounding on sandy beaches. It is uncrowded, peaceful and quiet. Maybe this mental image may have been real a long, long time ago. The present day Hawaii I see on TV has tall buildings and crowded beaches caught in the hustle and bustle of progress. It seems like any other city in the world but for the palm trees, surf, the endless ocean, volcanoes, loud printed shirts, grass skirts, and summer all year long.
